Privacy Policy

Nox has no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, advertising identifiers, or any other personal information. The app does not include any advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or third-party tracking library.

To function, Nox stores the following data locally on your device, using an on-device database that is never transmitted to us or to any server:

• Your theme and language preference.
• Your custom sound mixes and their volume levels.
• Your sleep timer and bedtime reminder settings.
• A local cache of your premium purchase status, used so the app can unlock premium features instantly and offline.

None of this data leaves your device. If you uninstall the app or clear its storage, this data is permanently deleted. We have no way to access, recover, or restore it, because we never had a copy of it.

Nox offers one optional one-time purchase (“Nox Premium”). This purchase is processed entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play Billing, depending on your device. We never receive, see, or store your payment card details, billing address, or any other financial information — that is handled exclusively by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies:

The only information the app receives back is a purchase confirmation used to unlock premium features on your device, and, when you tap “Restore Purchases,” a purchase-history lookup performed directly with Apple/Google to re-unlock premium on a new device. We do not maintain our own record of who purchased Nox.

• Notifications — requested only if you turn on the optional “Bedtime Reminder” feature. The reminder is scheduled entirely on your device using your operating system’s local notification system — no push notification server is involved, and no notification content is sent anywhere.
• Background audio / wake lock / foreground service (Android) — used only to keep your chosen ambient sound mix playing while your screen is off or the app is in the background, for Nox Premium users. No data is transmitted — it simply keeps audio playback and the on-screen clock (Nightstand mode) active.

We do not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photo library, or any other sensitive permission, because Nox has no feature that needs them.

As of the date above, Nox does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service. The only third parties involved in operating the app are Apple and Google, solely for processing in-app purchases as described in Section 3. If a future version of the app adds a new third-party service (for example, crash diagnostics to help us fix bugs), we will update this policy before that version is released and revise the “Last updated” date above.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We could not do this even if we wanted to — we do not collect or hold any personal data to share in the first place.

Nox is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal data from any user, this is inherently satisfied by the app’s design.

Because all app data lives only on your device and we hold no personal data on any server, most data-access, correction, or deletion requests (such as those available under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws) are already fully satisfied by using the in-app controls (deleting a saved mix, disabling a reminder) or by uninstalling the app, which erases all locally stored data immediately. Nox is available worldwide. Because the app does not transmit personal data off your device, using Nox from any country does not involve any cross-border transfer of personal data by us.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected in an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, an in-app notice. Continuing to use Nox after a change becomes effective means you accept the revised policy.
